SHUT THE WINDOW!!!!

OK...so your probably wondering what is the deal w/ the title. Well...it all happened Saturday night. All 3 of us were laying in the bed watching T.V. when Jack sat up and told us that he was hot and that his neck was sweaty. Well...if you live around here, you know that the weather is has gotten to the point where you don't need a heater anymore yet you don't need an air conditioner either and the ceiling fans are all running on high. So...I had suggested to Jamie to just raise the window just a lil' bit go let some cooler air in. Then it starts...Jamie gets back in the bed and says (he's joking around when he says this)..."But Brandy...what if a big snake comes in the house through the window?" Let me just tell you that saying that out loud in front of Jack was not a good idea and Jamie later pays for it! Jack FREAKS out! He turns around and says to Jamie in a STURN voice, "Daddy, I'm not hot anymore...SHUT THE WINDOW!" and he doesn't just say it once...it's repeated several times. Then Jamie explains that he was just jokin' and that snakes do not come in houses. Jamie was quickly corrected by Jack, "Hello! Remember when Lily brought the snake in the house? http://brandykeating.blogspot.com/2008/03/ahhhhthe-luxury-of-living.html Snakes can come in houses...Da'ey!" (Jack pronounces Daddy as Da'ey) So Jamie goes to close then window and all he closes was the blind..."Da'ey, the glass window! Shut it!" Jamie gets back up and when he goes to shut the window, he PRETENDS that something is grabbing his arm and Jamie is screaming and yelling! Jack is like, "Close the window!" Jamie gets back in the bed and Jack has realized that Da'ey was just joking around and he's REALLY, REALLY MAD!!! I'm holding Jack's arms b/c I don't want him to get in trouble for "whoopin" on Jamie. Now you have to be there to have enjoyed this part...Jamie and Jack are laying next to one another and their faces are like right there at one another. Jack's got this mean/mad look on his face and his lips poked out...HE'S MAD! And then, out of no-where, he head-butts Jamie as hard as he possibly can! The impact of their two heads knocks Jamie's glasses off and Jack is not crying or anything w/ pain. He was so mad at Jamie playing that joke on him that his anger overtook everything else. Jamie and I just bust out laughing b/c of the way it all played out. You just have to had been there to enjoy it!

Easter Lily

I've been trying to get some of my photography work caught up and I can honestly say that I am almost there. Being that I've started a whole new blog strictly for my photography work, I had to have a new header design, so I decided to take a picture of the Easter Lily that I've got and use it. So...I just thought that I would share with you my new header for my photography blog... www.brandykeatingphotography1.blogspot.com

Easter

It's amazing how fast Easter has came and gone. Regardless of it being so early this year...it's hard to believe that March is almost over. Where is the time going?

The kids had a really good time hunting and finding the eggs. Even though the weather was a lil' bit more chilly than I like, the sunny skies made up for it. There were 8 kids in all, all of them cousins, searching for the hidden eggs. I believe that Kristina & Wesley found all the money prize eggs and I believe that the grand total of their winnings was $13.oo. Blake found a prize egg too, but his winnings were not as much as Kristina and Wesley's.
I love Easter. I do hope that our kids grow up having as much fun at Easter and the other holidays as I did growing up. But it's up to us as parents to provide all the fun and steer our children's imagination and to allow them to have the most fun at these holiday get-togethers as they can. Our children are going to be all grown up before we know it, and watching them have the most fun hunting & finding eggs, decorating a Christmas tree, shooting fireworks, etc...that is what makes being a parent so grand.

What Does "Brandy" Mean

What Brandy Means

You are full of energy. You are spirited and boisterous.

You are bold and daring. You are willing to do some pretty outrageous things.

Your high energy sometimes gets you in trouble. You can have a pretty bad temper at times.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.

You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.

You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.

People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.

You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.

You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.

You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.

Have you.....

ever been so angry that its just about unbearable to keep it all in? I'm just about that way now. I've just SEEN and realized that the help and suggestions that has been shared with someone are being thrown back in my face. I don't know why I'm letting it bother me so...I guess I'm just gonna have to let it go somehow or another. But...I guarantee that it won't happen again.

Along with that...there are about to be some changes made with my blog. Please keep checking for the update because they should be completed within the next day or so.

And again...Thank you to everyone for taking the time to check in for updates.

Our Camping Adventure

Being that the school is out this week for Spring Break, Jamie decided to take a vacation this week off from work so that he could spend time w/ Jack and me. So...to get the week started off, we decided to take the camper out for our first camping adventure at a local state park...which most of you reading this know it as Lake Lurleen. We leave early Sunday morning and get things set up and all...and we decide to take the kayak out for a lil' ride out on the lake. Let me go ahead and tell you this....Jamie is not the graceful person that he needs to be when getting in the kayak...he nearly dumped me out while trying to get in and situated!!!! He gets in the 2 person ride and it's me and Gertie in the front, Jack and Jamie in the back. So far, So Good?!?... you would think. Jamie and me are just gracefully paddling along the calm water and Jack decides that he would like to paddle...NOT A GOOD IDEA!!! The boat nearly gets turned over and we ALL about fall in. It was a really fun ride. Gertie nearly jumped in the cold water...Jamie's rear got wet...Jack decided that he didn't like kayaking after all...but at the end...we all had a really good time.

The next morning, we get up and Jamie want to go on a trail walk. Sounds good? You would think it would be. The scenery is beautiful. The trail we decided to walk is right on the water and you can see the lil' ducks diving for fish, the fish jumping out of the water, and the birds and squirrels doing their own lil' thing.

Here are some other pictures that I took during our lil' trip.

Super Kids....

...and that is what they are...Super! Yesterday, Jack's class had their Easter Egg Hunt and all the kids wore their new school shirts for the occasion. The shirts are so pretty and bright and I love the colors. As for the hunt...all the eggs were found! YEA!! The interest in the hunt was lost not long after majority of the eggs were found, but one lil' boy was determined that there were more hidden. He hunted and hunted and hunted AND hunted while all the other kids played on the playground and before you knew...he found another egg! That discovery sparked a whole new egg search w/ all the other kids. You've never saw so many kids rush to go and search for something as they had. Another thing that happened was the egg snatch and switch! (Thanks to Leah who is only 14 months old) But at the end, all the kids had a wonderful time and I'm so glad that everyone had a blast!

The new school shirts!

The back.

Caden Reece

The Lil' Monkey...

that Jack has turned out to be. He accomplished the "Monkey Bars" yesterday and with that...you would have thought that he won a toy shopping spree at Toy's R Us! He was so proud of himself as so were we. Didn't you know that crossing the "Monkey Bars" is a major milestone to overcome? I learned that yesterday.

Yesterday was also the first time that Jack got to ride his new 4-wheeler. He had a blast....we even took him to the woods behind the house and tried to get him familiar with riding on the trails....teaching him to dodge the trees and bushes. He done really well...almost got stuck in the mud only once.
OK...to other things. I had the chance to go to Mobile this past weekend to visit with my friend, Miranda & her family, and to photograph her sweet lil' boy, Cade. And let me tell you...don't let Miranda get too far away from Cade while you are holding him. The first night I was there, almost everytime I would hold him, his bottom lip would pucker and he would start to cry. But once he was back in Miranda's arms...he was fine. I tried it again and he done the same thing. Bless him... it was a lot better the next day. I did have him smilin' a time or two. But during the picture taking....he was a pro. Couldn't ask for a better baby to photograph. He would smile on demand.
