I'm Hoping that It'll Never...

...take me this long to blog again. I just haven't had the time. Since school has been out, time has just passed by so quickly that now, there is only 6 more full weeks of summer left!!! Gosh where has time gone.

Since the last blog, my Mommaw Theo passed away. I'm so grateful to have had such a wonderful woman in my life. She was a hardworker who loved all of her children and loved them all unconditionally. She never judged any of us, no matter what. She would tell stories of her past, how her and Poppaw endured a terrible snow in 1940. The snow was so bad, the cows had icicles hanging from their nose. Her and Poppaw would take turns staying up w/ Uncle Billy so that they could keep the fire going to keep him warm. There was also another story that my Poppaw can still tell...about how Mommaw could pick more cotton than him. There's no telling how many times she picked 300 pounds of cotton alone. And one last story to tell...when she was 8 months pregnant w/ my daddy (he's the baby of 4 children), Mommaw had to plow the garden, and back then they didn't have a tractor...she had to use a mule. You talk about a tough lady....she was.

Growing up, you always think that you have your grandparents forever. Thankfully, I have a lot of wonderful memories of my grandmother; her quilting, cooking, working in the garden, singing to her babies, etc. That's something that I hope I never loose. I have a lot of memories here at home of her...pictures and many quilts that she's stitched. She lived a long life, and had a long love life with my Poppaw - they would've been married for 70 years in January. With that, they had 4 children, 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She passed away June 14th at home with her family beside her.

*My prayer for a change had been answered. Jamie got the job the applied for at El Paso (Southern Natural Gas). He had been in doubt that he wasn't gonna get it, but he got "the call" Tuesday and he starts July 1st. We're so grateful that things are working in this direction.

*We're going to the beach!!! And Jack is all excited as so am I. I'm also hoping that we'll be able to do a lil' more camping before Jack starts school. He seems to like the camping adventure pretty good, so maybe we'll be able to work that in.

*Here are some random pictures taken since my last blog.
