Time to Catch Up!

Its so hard to believe that today is the last day of July...where has the summer gone? I've noticed in the past couple of years that as I get older, the years, months, days...they are getting shorter. The first day of school is next week and I'm really excited about Jack starting this new chapter in his life, but it also marks that he's not a baby anymore. I want him to grow, but can he just slow down a little?
In preparing for school, we've done just a lil' bit of shopping for Jack. The other day, Jamie and I took Jack to Old Navy and picked him several t-shirts w/ cool designs on the front. I've noticed that Jack is so much like Jamie when it comes to shopping...he doesn't like it! After I picked up the 4th one, Jack was saying, "Can we go now?" So much for me a lil' shopping buddy!

Here are a few of our finds from Target!

Andrew needs a lil' prayer...

*THIS IS ANDREW...A VERY BRIGHT LIL' BOY WHO HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED W/ NEPHROTIC SYNDROME. I'VE COPIED HIS BIO FROM A (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/andreweasterling) SITE THAT HIS MOTHER, ANGELA, HAS SET UP FOR HIM SO THAT FAMILY AND FRIENDS CAN KEEP IN TOUCH W/ HIM AND THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT HE'S MAKING EVERYDAY. PLEASE, IF YOU ARE READING THIS...PLEASE KEEP HIM IN YOUR PRAYERS.

Hi my name is Andrew. I had a normal life up until two to three weeks after my third birthday. My parents found out that I have Nephrotic Syndrome, which is a disorder caused by damage to the small blood vessels in your kidneys that filter waste and excess water from your blood. When healthy, these small blood vessels keep blood protein from seeping into your urine and out of your body. When damaged, they don't perform this function effectively and protein can leak out of your blood and lead to swelling, which is exactly what happened to me. The doctors put me on the prednisone which really helped me at first....until they began tapering me off. It took 15 days before my protein went back to four plus. So they put me back on the prednisone twice a day again. This time it didn't work. So I went to the hospital and they gave me Albumin/diuretics/prednisone through an IV. It helped maybe a little. Hoping that this was going to help me, the doctors sent me home. But it didn't. I had to come back to the hospital(07-03-08) and they started giving me a stronger steroid but its still not helping me. My blood pressure started to raise so they started me on a blood pressure medicine which has helped me. We will talk to my doctor (07-07-08) to see if I will have to have a kidney biopsy. So please keep me in your prayers!! (Please read my journal for the updates that are going on or to see how I am doing. thx.)

Fayette Co. Tractor Pull

With the fear of the races at Holiday Beach being rained out, Jamie decided that it might be better if we went to the "Tractor Pull" in Fayette where the show is covered and safe from the rain. Here are some pics from yesterdays adventure!

What would a tractor pull be without Funnel Cakes!!! YUMMY!!

I've got a few projects...

...in progress, one being a diaper bag. I'm so excited about this one...don't know why...but I found the material the other day and thought..."that would be so cute". It's for a friend of mine who is expecting a lil' boy. I can't wait to get it done to see the finished product, but I've got a few more lil' things that I've got to finish up before I get started.

It was so nice...

...waking up to the sound of rain and thunder. I guess that's the reason why we got to sleep in this morning. Something about the sound of rain is so soothing that you just can't make yourself get up.

We had a really nice 4th of July. We went and spent the day w/ Jamie's grandparents and Jack was able to get in the pool & swim w/ his cousins. He is doing so well w/ the swimming. He hasn't yet accomplished swimming on top of the water, but he's pretty much got it swimming underneath. He'll jump in and swim back to the steps where he'll walk out and jump right back in. I also had the chance to toss him a lil' bit in the pool and he seemed to really have fun w/ that.

We're hoping that the weather clears up today so that we can make it to the races this afternoon. Jamie took his car to the TEST AND TUNE Thursday night and was pleased w/ the runs. He did decide to make a few minor adjustments and all, but the car should be ready to go w/in a few hours. :) If were able to go, I'll post pics of his run later on.

Panama City Beach...

Here are a few pictures that were taken while during our quick get-away. We were able to go last week. We had a really nice time...I just wish that we were able to stay longer.

*Another BIG thing happened since my last blog. Jamie started his new job!!! He really likes it. The best thing about it...he's about 10 minutes from home! He'll be home before Jack gets home from school and he's really looking forward to that.
*Speed is 6 weeks old!!!
* Jack seen this beautiful moth on Jamie's truck the other day.
