Loving on my Baby Girl

It's almost 12am and for some reason, I can't sleep.

Ava Grace is such a joy to my life....we're so blessed to have 2 beautiful children. I'm missing Jack like crazy. He came over today w/a few of his new toys (did I mention that they are Star Wars?) and asked a few times if we're gonna come home tomorrow. I know he loves being w/ Gran'Momma and Granddaddy, but I believe he's missing the thrill of being home. I know he's not the only ones. I'm so ready to get home as so is Jamie and I'm hoping that when the Dr. comes in the morning and sees how well I've been doing, maybe he'll discharge us.

Here are a few pics of Ava Grace.
Thanks to everyone for your visits, calls, prayers, and thoughts of kindness. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and family in our lives. Please continue to pray for a swift recovery from the surgery - that the soreness and tenderness will subside very soon so that I'll be able to better do with/for my family - and that Lil' Miss Ava continues to do well.

Ava Grace is Here!

Our baby girl was born at 8:41am weighing in at 9lbs and is 20in long. Everything is going extremely well and we are so thankful that the surgery went well and Ava Grace is healthy and happy. Thanks to all for their thoughts and prayers and I ask that you continue to pray that I overcome the surgery easily and that my baby girl continues to do well.
With Love,

Only 2 Days Left...

...til we meet our sweet baby girl. I'm so, SO, excited to know that I'm gonna be able to see her; smell her sweet baby smell; touch her soft baby skin - but I'm also saddened to know that this pregnancy will be coming to an end - it's went by so fast, yet slow. I'm praying hard that everything goes accordingly and that she's healthy and that my surgery goes well.

I went to the doctor this past Monday and all is still well. However, there's been a "small" change. Throughout my whole pregnancy, I've measured perfectly....until Monday. Last Tuesday, I measured 37 weeks....this week I measured 41!!!!!! The doc said that she's gonna be big (I believe she'll surpass the 8 pound guestimation that was made a few weeks ago) and that he was glad that I had scheduled the c-section. I'm hoping that I'm just retaining a lot of fluid (I had a lot of amniotic fluid the day that I had Jack) or she was just in such a position that it made the measurements off. We'll find out for sure Friday! =)

Jack is more excited that anyone else about her arrival. He's counting down the days and is anxiously waiting to hold her. He asked me the other night about when he may get to see her and I explained to him that he would be able to see her just as soon after she was born b/c even though me and his daddy are going to be in another room, they are gonna bring her in the nursery and open up the blinds for him to see her get monitored and her first bath. I also told him that after I got back to the room, a nurse would bring Ava to be w/ us and that he would be able to hold her, talk to her, and give her all the kisses he's been wanting to give. =) I'm so excited about him becoming a big brother and I cannot wait to witness their love for one another. Even though she's not yet here in the outside world, she knows him and responds to his voice and touch. It's so sweet to see him talk to my belly and when she kicks, he just smiles so big w/ makes my heart melt. :*-)

Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as Friday approaches and that we are blessed w/ a healthy baby girl and a safe delivery.

I would also like to congratulate my cousins on their new baby girls.

WOW...It's Been a Busy Week Already...

...and it's only Tuesday! Lets just start w/ Sunday...

SUNDAY: We could already tell that it was going to be one of those days. I woke up not feeling 100% and just drained from a restless night and contractions. Both Jamie and I noticed that Ava's movements had drastically decreased and was causing us both to be concerned. After trying to get her to move by pressing on my belly and not feeling nothing, we got the fetal heart monitor and listened for a heartbeat. Thankfully, we were able to be reassured by the sweetest sound ever. :)

37 Weeks Prego!

After the scare, we were able to get ready for a birthday party that Jack had been invited to. He was so excited about going to the FUN FACTORY and being able to play w/ all of his friends. Before we got there, we stopped by Taco Bell where we had to wait for 20 minutes to get our lunch. WOW! I don't think that I've ever seen a fast food restaurant so slow! :(

Now the rest of Sunday is pretty much a typical day...only difference was the fact that I was not feeling well at all and having LOTS of contractions! After coming home and trying to rest, the contractions became closer (5 minutes apart) and harder. I called a nurse friend of mine and she suggested that I go ahead and call the office and see what the doc would have for me to do. Of course, I was asked to come in and be monitored for a few hours. Unfortunately, Ava was not ready to come out Sunday night. After being monitored and having consistent contractions, it was obvious that I wasn't in labor. The frustration of it all is the fact that my body is driving me crazy w/ all these signs and symptoms that are proving untrue and making me believe that one thing is happening when it's actually not.

Now lets just skip to TUESDAY because Monday was spent all day at home in my PJ's trying to rest from the night before. I had my scheduled Dr.'s visit and of course, all is still well. No change WHAT-SO-EVER...which we're fine w/ as long as she continues to do well. To ease our concerns of her lack of moving, I was put on a monitor for several minutes and all was determined well and happy. I'm just hoping that the next uneventful episode will be definite and not a maybe OR things will continue as they have been today until next FRIDAY when we're scheduled for the C-Section.

Here are a few pics of Jack's friends. They came over one day last week to visit until it was time for baseball practice.

I'm so glad that today is Friday b/c it brings the weekend. I don't think that none of us has slept well all week ( I know that I haven't) and I'm praying that tomorrow will bring a day of relaxing and tinkering around the house while listening to the rain (please let it rain!).

In my last post, I mentioned that Jack's 2 front teeth were very loose and that he had an appointment w/ a pediatric dentist for a x-ray, cleaning, and (hopefully) and extraction. I'm gonna be honest...I was afraid that the visit was not going to go well, but to my surprise, Jack did exceptional! I just knew he was going to be ready to leave after the x-rays due to him gagging, but he was such a big boy and continued w/ the visit like a pro. I'm glad to report that he has NO cavities, but still has his 2 front teeth loosely intact. =( Dr. Wes advised that he "wiggle, wiggle, wiggle," and that if they haven't been pulled by the following Tuesday, wants us to come back and he'll help Jack w/ getting them out. YAY!!! =)

Jack getting his teeth cleaned. He liked the part of suctioning his own mouth!

After the cavities and fresh cleaned teeth! =)Shortly after we got home, our neighbors stopped by and dropped off a gift for the baby and Jack. Doc and Mrs. Connie hit the Jackpot w/ their gift to Jack! Before they left, he had already transformed into a Star Wars Clone Trooper! He kept the costume on all day! =)

Thanks a Bunch, Doc & Mrs. Connie! =)

Nothing Really to Report....

....only that Lil' Ava is in no rush or even showing signs of arriving before her scheduled arrival date. Which, honestly, I'm pleased w/ the idea of her staying in there until the 27th. The reason being is b/c #1 - it gives her more time for her lungs to mature #2 - it gives me a lil' more time to enjoy what will be my last pregnancy. Yes, I'm a lil' miserable at the time, but feeling her move outweighs any pains and discomforts that I have. Seeing and feeling her react to Jack's voice is so neat...last night he was sitting right next to me on the couch and he started talking about Ava and she kicked all of a should've seen the reaction on his face when he felt it. It shocked him knowing that she knows his voice and seems excited to hear him when he talks to me or her. =)

Speaking of Jack...his 2 front teeth are EXTREMELY loose and I'm so thankful that he didn't loose them before today b/c he had Spring Pictures made at school. But to his surprise, I've made him an appointment at the pediatric dentist tomorrow and I'm hoping and praying that he'll do just fine. I'm more than sure that the cool dentist will go ahead and pull the teeth, I just hope and pray that Jack don't go all "Berserk" on me. My friend has talked so good about this dentist and his office - how they have TVs on the ceilings w/ cartoons playing, Nintendo, etc....that w/ as much as Jack likes toons and his DS, I'm more than sure we won't have any problems tomorrow. (Be sure to check in tomorrow for an update!)

This Time Change Is.....

...AWFUL!!! I'm not sleeping well in the nights and loosing an hour isn't helping at all. And it's not benefiting Jack either! =( This morning when I went to wake him, he whined, "I'm still so sleepy...." Of course he didn't want to go to school due to the lack of sleep he got last night, but after several minutes of talking, he managed to slowly roll out of bed and get ready. Now lets see how well he acts for Mrs. B (if you're reading this....I'm sorry if he's a lil' ill!)

We had a busy weekend...well...almost. Saturday was a full day. Jack woke up at 5:30am while his Daddy was getting ready to leave for work. I was hoping that he would at least sleep for another hour or so, but when he asked to watch cartoons, I knew that was it. We later had baseball practice and Jack did really well with hitting and going after the balls. I had to grab his attention a time or two (more actually), but other than that...he did really well.

After b'ball practice, we rode over to my parents house to visit for a while. My oldest sister, her daughter, and grandson came down from Fayette to spend the day. The boys had a really good time playing and it was such a pretty day outside that we all spent a good bit of time outdoors.

Now Sunday was completely different. We spent the whole day at home in our PJ's and washed a few loads of clothes and just lounged around. I guess you could say that it was just one of those days....and believe was.

We go back to the Dr. tomorrow and see how things are going. As of today, I'm 36 weeks, 1 day prego - but we have 2 weeks, 4 days before our scheduled C-Section Day...if we make it. Lil' Ava is still active and moving around so much - I haven't really noticed that much of a change in her movements as the time gets closer. I've been told that I've dropped, but honestly I can't tell. I guess we'll know for sure tomorrow.

I'm sorry to post w/ no pictures. Ava's lil' area in our room is just about complete. The armoire is done and is filled w/ her clothes. =) As soon as the glider/rocker is done, I'll be sure to post some pics.

Hope you all have a good Monday!

What a Loud Tuesday!

Jamie and I went to the scheduled appointment yesterday and, let me just say this...what a crowd in the waiting room. I don't think I've ever heard it so loud! It must've been the day b/c when we went to eat lunch, the lil' group in the booth beside us was not only loud...but obnoxious and rude! (You just had to have been there to witness what Jamie and I had seen and heard to get the true picture.) However, after finally being called back to the nurses desk for the blood pressure and weight check, things were much more relaxing and quiet....always is. For some reason, people don't want to chit-chat in subwaiting...I guess we're all afraid that we may strike up a good conversation before we're called to a room.

We didn't have to wait long and Jamie and I were called to a room where we heard Ava's heartbeat. The sound of it chugging along is so sweet and reassuring. Dr. C came in and found that there's no sign of Ava coming anytime soon - he's more than sure that she'll wait for our scheduled C-Section day which is the 27th and that she'll weigh close to 8 pounds! BIG GIRL!

I hope and pray that everyone has a Wonderful Wednesday!

Monday, March 2, 2009's a long post!

My friend Holly and sister-in-law hosted a baby shower for Lil' Miss Ava Grace yesterday and we were so blessed by all the wonderful gifts that were received for our baby girl. It's so weird seeing all this pink and cutsie's been a lil' overwhelming. I cannot express enough how excited I am about the upcoming arrival of Ava...I'm beginning to get a lil' bit impatient, but I know she'll be here sooner than later. Please forgive me for all the pictures, but I had to post them.

Here are so pics of just a few of the gifts that were given.

Thank you to all for all the wonderful gifts and best wishes for our baby girl.

As you tell by my ticker, I'm 35 weeks and 1 day pregnant and feeling every bit of it! I'm still having contractions, but nothing like I was having over a week ago. Ava's been very, VERY active and she's a non-stop mover. We go to the Dr. tomorrow and I'm hoping that maybe he'll surprise us w/ a ultrasound to guesstimate how big she is. I'm thinking right now she's about

6 1/2 pounds, but knowing me, I'm wrong....she's probably bigger! I'm gonna post pics of her lil' area in our bedroom as soon as it gets which I'm hoping will be sometime this week.

I hope that you all have a wonderful week. We have a busy week planned so far, so I know that we will all be going nonstop . I'll try to post an update on the dr's appointment tomorrow.
